  3. If the firefighters came earlier, the fire would not spread that fast. The residents could also contact the proper authorities when they suspected a fire.

    1) 1961 Bukit Ho Swee Fire- From the example of the Bukit Ho Swee fire, why do you think civil defence is important at the individual level?
    Civil Defence is important as people will be ready and know what to do when an emergency breaks out. Singaporeans must play a part by co-operating and not get too anxious when there is an emergency. We must move in an orderly and quick manner so that we can save as many lives as possible.

    2) 1991 Hijacking of SQ117- How does the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) maintain its operational readiness?
    It is a must for all Singaporean boys to do National Service so that they will be ready for emergencies like wars. This also ensures that Singapore will be able to defend itself from any enemies.

    3) 2013 Haze Hits Singapore- As demonstrated during the haze situation, what does it mean to be socially responsible?
    It means that we must play a part in helping the people around us - be it people in need of our assistance or not - in emergency situations anytime.

    4) 1964 Racial Riots- Learning from the 1964 racial riots, in what way can you do your part in the social defence of Singapore?
    We can do our part by respecting other races and learn about different cultures and understand them.

    The continued development of Changi Airport will ensure that we remain one of the best airports in the world to keep our country economically strong and good.

    The most important pillar of defence is psychological defence as this will make sure that we are not morally affected and continue fighting against the disease.

  8. 1) Physiological Defense, we have to prepared and not panic when it comes to such emergencies we should also be ready to help others despite whatever illness they have.
    2) We should try to learn more about other races and cultures such that these racial riots will not happen again.
    3) The SAF have to train more to stand by anytime and be ready .
    4) It is important to prepare for emergencies by doing drill.
    5) the EIP ensure each ethic group is well represented in every neighborhood reflect that the harmony between the difference races are bonded closely thus creating a strong community which reflects on Social Defense.
    6 ) with that more visitor will visit Singapore and more trading will happen here, thus the economy in Singapore will be stronger.
    7 )We have to play an active role in society by helping out others even during the time of crisis.

    As demonstrated during the haze situation, what does it mean to be socially responsible?
    ~being socially responsible means to offer help to the society as well as taking care of what is important to both the country and to yourself.

    Global Financial Crisis
    Learning from the example of the 2008 global financial crisis, in what way can we do our part in the economic defence of Singapore?
    ~we need to always strengthen our skill and knowledge to keep our economy competitive to the rest of the world.

    ~The continuous expansion ensures that we will have more visitors to maintain a strong competition within the world to keep our our economy firm.

    Which is the most important pillar of defence during the outbreak of the disease?
    ~Psychological Defence as we need to be mentally prepared to overcome a nation wide epidemic crisis such as this.

    ~This is to be able to respond individually when a crisis occurs.

    How does the Singapore Arm Forces (SAF) maintain its operational readiness?
    ~The SAF would constantly strengthen and improve themselves to be able to respond adequately to a situation such as this.

    ~It ensures that different races and people from different ethnic groups would live together to create a stronger bond as a community.

    Q3) They keep calm, and also train a lot. They are very alert and also have the spirt to rescue the people on the plane. They keep fit, improve their skills and have the latest technology. Not only that, they plan before hand. They also make sure that they do not lose their focus.

    Q8) It meant that they care and look out for one another and help one others when they face difficulty.

    Q2) We can care for one another and protect them when they are in a difficult situation. No matter what race, religion or language that we speak, if everybody are able to live in peace and harmony, we can prevent racial riot.

    Q7) Singapore have the best airport in Asia, people will have a good impression on Singapore and will come to Singapore. When more foreigners come, our economic rises.

    Q1)Psychological Defence. They will have a positive attitude and have a optimistic point of view. When people have a positive point of view, we will be able to overcome this disease and live together as one singapore.

  11. The government should provide financial assistance to in order to help bank and business bankrupts. Government can provide financial assistance to those who lost their jobs.

    Singapore is globally connected has many terminals in its main airport as many people are visiting Singapore. More terminals mean more tourists coming from around the world which means the economic of Singapore will improve greatly as more tourists spend their money at Singapore's attractions.

    Psychological defence is the most important during the SARS outbreak. During this epidemic, we must mentally prepare ourselves for more outbreaks/disasters coming our way in the future and possess the will to live and overcome these outbreaks together as one nation.

    Civil defence must be prepared for mentally and physically for any emergency cases, accidents such fire. We must not be dependant on the personnel. We should be ready and be aware of what to do when an accident occurs.

    Singapore Armed Forces must be serious about their trainings. They must be able to act quick to any situation to prevent people from getting serious injured. We also must be able to know what to do during events like this.

    During situations like haze, we must be take of care of our family members, neighbours and others too. We must be able to have our daily needs. We must be mentally ready for this kind of situations.

    We must accept and respect every race, religion and language in order to stay in harmony. We should be able understand and learn about each other's feelings, customs and daily lifestyle.
